Cheap grapes - expensive watermelons

Anyone notice how inexpensive grapes are this year?

Here in BayouBurg, red and green seedless have been selling for 98 cents a
pound and they have been really delicious.

We have been eating too many of them.

OTOH - watermelons have been running from $6 to $10 each and some haven't
been the best quality. Most years, by this time you could get them anywhere
for $4.

That's because there's a glut of grapes... and folks haven't been tasting
them fast enough.

Not only grapes but the local evil family owned market where we buy most
of our stuff has had blueberries for $1.29/pint, strawberries for
$0.99/quart and cherries for $1.25/lb for the past couple weeks.
