Gadgets for Christmas Recommend
 

Thermometer
With Christmas coming up I would like to increase my useful kitchen
gadgetry. I do not own a meat thermometer and I am always impressed
with the one that Alton Brown uses. It has an alarm that will tell
you when a specified temperature has been reached. I believe he calls
it a probe thermometer. I would like to ask Mrs. Claus for one. What
brand would recommend?

Food Processor
What food processor would be recommended for less than 50.00 bucks?

Here's the very one Mr. Alton Brown uses... It's great for almost all
your thermometering needs - just don't get it near the grill...

I find they're great...someone did say that the probe can't go above a
certain temp, but I don't cook my meat that high.

I'm giving that to some family this Xmas as well. I think it's worth
it.

We have one of those (my mother brought it back from the Philippines) and I
just can't use it. For some reason, I think it must hurt those little flies
more than swatting them with a newspaper. I think it's the "bzzzzzzt" sound
and the spark when the flies hit the grid. Sends shivers up my spine every
time!

I saw two things at Bed Bath and Beyond the other day that I could
probably live without:

- A battery-powered box grater

- An electric (plugs into the wall) jar opener
