I most always open whatever dry pantry goods I buy on the day I purchase...flour and all pasta products. I have a very small kitchen with minimal above counter cupboard space, and all pastas and powders are best found along the top shelf and stored in clear plastic containers (Tupperware, Gladware, etc.). If I do find critters in anything on shopping day, that product is immediately returned to the store. Mother taught we girls to always keep a few bay leaves in pasta containers to keep critters from making the container a home. This practice does seem to work quite well for me.I do not put the leaves in flour, as that one product has never been home to anything but the scoop stored inside. ....Picky |
