Diced up ham, cayenne, my home made "baked" beans and some brown rice,
and WATER!

I think that beats your candy breakfast by about a mile! :-)

Eggs and spaghetti! And I thought I had tried every breakfast combo
imaginable.

Thanks for the idea!

I had a left-over from last night whiskey and apple juice to finish, and
then had about 8 Oz of low fat strawberry yogurt. I'm actually startling
to love the yogurt now. Pretty good for a steak & eggs kind a guy. :-)

I will say I am tempted though. I have steak, eggs, extremely fresh
honey wheat bread to toast, and sweet butter.

Paul,

Now that you mention it, the other night, food TV said the difference between
chicken fried and country fried steak was chicken fried steak used white
gravy while country fried steak used a brown gravy.

Or so they claim!

That might be my breakfast tomorrow as I am planning on a pasta tonight,
and have some pork (butt sliced in 2 inch square sections pretending to
be "country style ribs") as the meat I'll shred for the meat add to a
red sauce.

But the egg add sounds pretty good. I will often make a hash or even
just a "Potatoes O'brian" add a couple of eggs after the the potatoes
are done, cover and let sit for a few minutes... Nice to "slide onto a
plate, than slice the hot lovely yolks over the taters :-)

Your idea with the spaghetti, is inspiring me :-)

What do they know? I make it with parsely and dry sherry. I have no idea
if that is brown or white. Sometimes it is even a bit green. But good!

I understand Andy... And my way of dealing with it is that I skip the
next *meal* and if I end up hungry later, just have a lettuce salad, or
a piece of fruit later... sometimes I bend that rule also, but I do try
to keep to it :-)

Ah. I was back to scones today. If it wasn't so nasty out, I'd
probably have gone to try the corned beef hash at a take-out place
very near here. I just went yesterday for lunch, having read
great things about them. They offer Armenian and deli fare. The
Armenian things are absolutely brilliant!

I second liking that egg idea! Runny yolk is the best part of them.

The spaghetti also reminds me a bit of spaghetti carbonara - one of my
faves.

Blender smoothie with:
skim milk
plain fat free yogurt
lots of papaya
half a banana
and a bit of chocolate soy powder. It's the end of the Revival Soy I
got horsed into buying.

last cranberry-walnut muffin. Need to make more - I'm on a mission to
use all the food in my freezer and start making lots of huge ice
cubes.
Think hurricane season.

Andy, all that soda is doing you NO good. Listen to granma, now...

Kalmia,

Honest, I just got re-hooked on the Orange Crush just about three months
ago. Kinda/sorta revisiting my youth!?

I can't remember my last hurricane, unless you place me on Bourbon street
in New Orleans, LA during Mardi Gras. @) I wouldn't dare wish an actual one
on them ever!

Your shake sounds like one of the fruit frappés I used to whip up at the
restaurant, for a brief moment in time. Tip? Add a tablespoon or two of
brown sugar.

I've broken an egg into m&c before. Not bad!

I'd just as soon toss in avocado and tuna, instead.

Not a bad concept at all. What I am considering is making a decent
home-made Mac & Cheese, and when ready to serve, plating, and then
cracking an egg or two over the top, nuking for the time needed for the
white(s) to firm up, and eat.

To do this with M & C, that had tuna added, would just be another layer
of flavor.

OK, let me take it a bit further. My kids loe this in autumn.

Eggs, cooked to order. Placed on a bed of spaghetti. Topped with home
made chili con carne with beans. Topped with shredded sharp cheddar,
slipped under the broiler to just melt the cheese.

Thanks for the chili add. Now I am thinking of adding eggs like sunny
side up, to a bowl of chili.

Much value there..

OR take a stick blender to the egg and chili and then pour it onto a burger

Do you keep canned sauces on hand? It's quick and easy to make a sauce
doctoring a bit of canned chopped tomato and tomato paste.
Cheap too.

Mixed Italian herbs, (basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary and parsley), a
bit of garlic and onion, either fresh or powdered, and you are good to
go. ;-d

That would be OT Hodges Chili Parlour, now no more. Save that one of
its cooks opened his own place in Clayton, called it Chili Macs Cafe.
Still there on S. Central, now called Clayton Diner. Same chili recipe,
beans optional.

And yes, that is basically where I got the idea the above breakfast.
Called eggs ala mode.

I meant to ask, are you a Hot Italian?

Andy's Evil Twin

I didn't say that!

You never would!

Would so!

Would not!

Only a cup of coffee at this point in time, whilst reading the Sunday paper.
