Isn't that always the way? Those with the great kitchens don't even
use them.

Not that I'm jealous at all.....

Applause? Huh. That seems weird.

I guess both devotees and enemies would have reason to applaud. Not
something I would have done, though.

It's something I've seen during public funerals from people who didn't
know the individual but want to express their respect in ways they
might have were Kennedy still living. Personally, I would have crossed
myself and said a silent prayer for his soul.

The pubilic procession for Diana, Priincess of Wales, is an obvious
example of how this kind of public display can become OTT.

She's a great kid, but she singed my feathers when she suggested that
I could cook the family Thanksgiving dinner in her splendiferous
kitchen, rather than the matchbox that I've been producing family
meals out of for years. Not sure why that grated so, but it did.

The news from WWBZ out of Boston reported that the applause was intended to
celebrate his life and his achievements. Family members in the limos and
tour buses of the funeral procession were waving out of the windows to the
crowds, so one would have to assume that they were okay with the applause.

I was watching from our hotel window, looking down on the cortege, so
couldn't see the people in the limos, etc. People seemed pretty
respectful and enthusiastic, both.

People applaud at Papal funerals, which seems extremely odd to me.

AFAIC there shouldn't be applause at weddings either, but they do it.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.
