I made the ratatouille. Sweet Jesus! Worth the time. I actually
followed the recipe!! Every bit of it! And I ate every bit of it for supper, too. Where they get 6 servings is beyond me. (Hush! I didn't have lunch!" -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.me.com/barbschaller - Yes, I Can! blog - check it out. Maybe I made the Julia version the first time (I needed a recipe), but I just throw it together now... and it's good anyway. -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |

Where they get 6 servings is beyond me. (Hush! I didn't > have lunch!" Not to fret -- I did away with my batch in two sittings. The six servings are for six emaciated pygmies with anorexia. Is it not the best damned vegetable dish ever? And you're right: the vegs must be cut exactly to specs and they must be cooked at the exact time at for the exact temp specified. And the tomatoes -- no skin, no snot, no juice. Your pics showed just how it should be done. But I don't think it could be done in stages, more's the pity. Dear God, I can't remember ever expending this much time and effort on a friggin' vegetable dish. Fleece |

I had posted a link to an article with several Julia Child recipes (including ratatouille) in a thread called "Remembering Julia" on 9/1 - Felice replied that she would use Julia's recipe instead of another one. Here is the article for you, ratatouille begins on page 4. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2001Oct2.html -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |
