There seems to be a debate on the nutritional value, so I did some
googling. I also weighed one at work and it weighed out to 5.2 grams in actual weight. According to the package (and it's been pointed out to me that imported items seldom have accurate nutritional information which is something I already knew) it has around 5.1 grams of carbs. This site shows one at slightly over 7 grams: <http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutriti...ic/rice-paper- wrapper> Or: <http://tinyurl.com/ollsdc> Odd, someone last week said that it was 35 grams per wrapper. No way as they don't even weigh anywhere near that. <g> Doing a bit more searching, there seems to be some variation and there is no question that lettuce wraps are better, but since I try to stay below 20 grams net carbs per day, having a couple of these from time to time (not daily) should not be so bad, and better than a pita or low carb tortilla wrap? Plus they are just plain fun... They make a great BLT with a little mustard. ;-d Limit the tomato of course! -- Peace! This time, the nutritional label says it has 19 grams of carbs for 3 wrappers. The last package, said 31 grams for 3 wrappers. Next time, I will shuffle the packages around and look for one with the lowest carbs. Think that would work? lol Like you said, as long as you eat these on special occasions, how much could it hurt. Think that would work? lol One could only wish. <g> I'll just count on 5 to 10 grams per wrapper and limit myself accordingly! > > > Like you said, as long as you eat these on special occasions, how much > could it hurt. > > > Becca Yep! -- Peace! I would think the carb count would be closer to 10-15 per wrapper (assuming a 10" square or round wrapper. IIRC, rice is pretty high up there. -sw |

The packages I get are 35 wrappers each, 340 grams (labeled) per package, so that would work out to just under 10 grams each. The math does not work no matter how it's worked. <g> The main point is, they do need to be limited if one is low carbing, but they are better than two slices of bread... -- Peace!
