Default Silver Palate cookbook redux

Found a hardcover copy of the 25th Anniversary addition of the Silver
Palate cookbook, new, for $12.95 in Tuesday Morning. I had talked myself
out of buying it, but James pointed out that he hadn't gotten me a
birthday present, so he bought it for me.

So besides the Chicken Marbella, which I understand is one of the gems,
what should I try?

The carrot cake. Wayne sent me the recipe ages ago and it is wonderful.

Hokay. I am going to have to give this one a try. I already think I
make the best carrot cake on the planet <preen> but am more than willing
to be proved wrong if this recipe is better than mine. I'd have to
leave out the coconut for most of my audiences cos they don't like it.
Personally, I'll bet it's fab.

I just made a cc to commemorate the end of Ramadan in honor of my boss.
He LOVES my cc. This time, I upped the lemon factor in the cream
cheese frosting just cos I had a hankering for some pucker power. The
cow orkers that it was wonderful.

Serene, if you make the cc, will you post about it please?

The fruit-stuffed pork loin, and the pureed sweet potatoes and carrots
dish. Those are two of my favorites.

Oh, and I think someone mentioned that the Banana Cake recipe was
really good but I haven't tried it yet.
