What is even more sad, this burger looks just like the very first McDs burger I bought 45 yrs ago and also like the one my GDs ate about 2 yrs ago. Despite all the variations they've offered in between, they still continue to sell this piece of crap. I've never ever understood why ppl eat at McDonalds. <shudder> nb |

It's the same thing as people who shop at walmart. I don't understand that either. <shrug> On the other hand, I have friends who don't understand why we cook at home 99% of the time. The world is a wacky place. Lou |

The fries reminded me of a car I had to borrow when I was working on mine. The floor and between the seats were littered with fries that were like rocks but looked like they were just out of the bag. I think the burger story *could* be true, and I also think the same would happen if you made a burger from fresh ground, free range, hormone and antibiotic free dead cow, salted it heavily like a McD burger, fried it to death like a McD burger, put it on a sugar laden stale bun like a McD burger and then stored it in a low humidity environment like a typical house in winter. Bloody hell people, it's dried beef on a crouton for Pete's sake, it has nothing whatsoever to do with quality, nutritional value or mysterious chemicals. > > >Lying propagandizing true believer zealots - also around and spewing > >garbage for many thousands of years. > > You lost me there. The author of that article is an ignorant (of all science), vegetarian "true believer", spewing totally baseless, libelous garbage, most of which was debunked long ago, just like the nonsense about red meat staying in your colon, toxin flushing, and chiropractors. |

It's a bad example. A completely organic burger and >bun would age the exact same way. And there is a significant amount >of nutritional value in there (when fresh) contrary to her claim. Yep, She was on a rant. If you read the replies she was called on it. And yes there is nutritional value but the other stuff is what's not so good, but that wasn't her angle. I thought the comments were funny and that's why I posted it as I enjoy reading weird stuff. At least it was on topic. Like you mentioned prior, I've noticed OT posts get much more attention. Lou |

You're taking this much too seriously Pete. Relax. It's just a mcShitties burger. >> >Lying propagandizing true believer zealots - also around and spewing >> >garbage for many thousands of years. >> >> You lost me there. > >The author of that article is an ignorant (of all science), vegetarian >"true believer", spewing totally baseless, libelous garbage, most of >which was debunked long ago, just like the nonsense about red meat >staying in your colon, toxin flushing, and chiropractors. I went back and looked for the vegetarian part but didn't see it. But that's ok as I assume lots of things too. I do love a good burger but not from mCd's. I also love humor - especially about food. Controversy is usually funny even if sometimes uncomfortable. I found this link funny and I also enjoyed the link modem posted. Lou |

From what I've observed craziness is often nothing more than extremes. For sure in the link I posted. Many good ideas go awry due to taking them too far. We all see it every day in politics, religion, FOOD, human rights, child rearing, the PETA creeps, etc. It's fun to sit back and watch the show. (RFC included) Lou |

Have everyone, have you all had a look at what is hidden beneath the
"100% beef" etc advertisements? Go and download the Ingredients PDF document on the Nutritional Information page of the Maccas website. http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutri...ionexchange.do Have a nice long read of the ingredients within a patty, or a sauce. It is, without doubt, along with Coca Cola, one of the worst things that a human can intake even on the occasion. |
