Fair enough. Regardless, you have to frequently check for one reason or
another, either to keep track of your balance or to make sure it hasn't
been compromised. I have to check once a month, period. I combine that
with paying the balance for a one-stop, once a month operation for the
cards I used that month (typically just one).

That's more or less my own practice. I do check the statement for the
card before paying even if I could also check online. It surprises me
how few mistakes are made but I did find myself signed up for some sort
of credit insurance after getting a credit check. It turned out that an
obvious answer was the wrong one. I was once scammed and found a whole
slew of phone calls to Ghana charged to my card. I did not have much
trouble getting the card company to void them.

Sometimes, I want to make sure that my account has not been added to
prematurely and I will check online. I also may check before going on a
trip if I expect the statement to arrive after I leave.
