I was deeply saddened to hear this evening that Leila Abu-Saba has
died after a long battle with cancer. Leila contributed a great deal
to this newsgroup and numerous other communities to which she
belonged. I for one will miss her.

Oh, no. I have wondered how she was doing but was afraid to ask,
hoping she was better.

Thanks for posting the news. Very sad.

Oh no!! I thought she was doing better? At least from the blog posts
of hers that I read, she seemed to be doing better. However, I must
admit I haven't read them in a month or so.
Things must have gotten worse, pretty fast...

Very sad news. I am not the most prolific poster, but I have been
reading long enough to know this is very very sad news.

Condolences to her family.

She was such a good presence here. Smart, passionate, and a wonderful
resource on the foods of her heritage.

I wish peace and comfort to her family.

NO! As soon as I saw this header, I feared, but didn't believe,
it was this type of announcement. How sad!

Indeed. She was a very bright, talented woman with young
children. My sympathy to her husband and sons.

Thank you for letting us know. She will be sorely missed. I'll be
making tabouli in her memory this week.

Oh, me, too! She was so articulate and helpful and generous! And I will
never eat tabouli without thinking of her. I love her tabouli recipe.

Leila has three other recipes there (the rfc signature dish page).

Oh no. This is very sad, I always have admired thoughtfulness
and knowledge here and on other groups. My most recent memory is
of her discussing molukhia.

She was a sweetheart and a class act. A much-needed presence here in
rfc, and the world in general. My heart goes out to her loved ones.

She will certainly be missed. I remember when she was posting fairly
regularly here. Her posts were always an interesting read.

This is so very sad. Leila was one of the all-time best rfc posters and
a very nice person.

Thank you, Barry, for letting us know.

Yes. How sad it is to leave so young, and leave children young, too.

I always enjoyed her posts about her parents, the Tabbouli King and the
Spoonbread Queen. Her brother lives/lived on Bainbridge Island, and I
hoped I'd have the chance to meet her if she came to visit him. Alas,
that was not to be. May she be at peace.
