Default Tonight's trashy eats

Tonight's dinner was spaghetti and steamed broccoli. That's not the
trashy part.

Anyone familiar with that broccoli salad they serve at some salad-bar
places? The one with mayo and raisins and bacon and onions (and maybe
sunflower seeds or something)?

Well, all my bacon is in the freezer, so I fried up a little onion in
some bacon grease and added it to chopped cooked broccoli, some mayo,
and some raisins.

Damn, this shit is good. My arteries are probably screaming for mercy,
but damn.

That's what I would call a day worth living.

The broccoli cancels out the bacon and the onion subdues the mayo.

Use 2 candles. One shaped like a six and one shaped like a one. <g>

Happy b-day to Steve and David!

Oh, god, I hate it, too! Glad you had a good result. (I did, too. Kind
of frustrated the tech, because she told me before the test that because
I am "obese", obviously it would show some artery disease, but nope,
clean as a whistle, as well as my cardio ultrasound and all the other
tests. My heart palpitations are just palpitations, not heart disease.
After I pointed out the clear results to her in the hallway, she kinda
grumbled embarrassedly and walked away. You'd think she would have been
happy!)

How do you feel today? ;-)

ObFood: I'm still trying to decide what to make for the cookalong. I'm
thinking of picking something more elaborate or work-intensive than
usual, and then serving it with your salad from the signature page.

It's good with a mix of tiny broccoli and cauliflower florets,
too, both lightly blanched, with the rest of your ingredients.
Pretty, too. Ranch dressing works instead of mayo, also, but I
doubt it's any healthier.

In August, over 50 of us cruisers met in Ohio to have a picnic. Someone
brought this salad, and it was made with broccoli and cauliflower. It
was tasty and very different, I really liked it.
