How many would YOU like?

Heh!

My grandmother raised turkeys for her family to eat, she is probably
spinning in her grave right now.

The best turkey I ever tasted came from a Hutterite Colony -- "plain
folk" like Amish but they live communally and they drive etc. Their
turkeys are free range, not frozen, no antibiotics/hormones and don't
taste processed. It was less than $5 lb and that's only because we
got it from a local meat market. They're cheaper if you drive 45
minutes to their farm. This was as good as a kosher turkey without
all that salt.
Lynn in Fargo
They have smoked chickens and turkeys too

Whatever, Martha! I tried her ham at Easter and it wasn't all that.

Holy Cow - those are outrageous prices! I can get them from the
Hooterite Colonies in the area for about $20. Anyone who wants a phone
number for one I can get it for you.

Speaking of turkeys, I went to see my sister and BIL last weekend. My
BIL went to feed the chickens & turkeys and a Tom turkey was laying on
his back, motionless. My BIL wondered what happened to him, so he
nudged the turkey's leg, the turkey started wiggling, trying to get up,
but he was too fat. My BIL straighted up the turkey and he started
eating along with the others. lol

A friend told me that turkeys will die from a shock really easy. He got
in trouble one time cause he was having so much fun going from turkey to
turkey going "BOO!" and they were dropping over dead. Rancher was not
amused.
