First, I am making the broccoli salad that Serene made a couple of weeks
ago, Sheldon's Chili Muy Bueno and Koko's pound cake called Bishop's
Cake. I will also be making corn bread. I will remember to take
pictures. :-)

I'm making cornbread also, Alan's Green Chilie Cornbread. Which one
are you making? I'm also making Damsel's Craklin' wings.

You'll love the poundcake.

I missed the broccoli salad recipe. Could you please post a link (or the
recipe)?

Here's a copy of my post:

Tonight's dinner was spaghetti and steamed broccoli. That's not the
trashy part.

Anyone familiar with that broccoli salad they serve at some salad-bar
places? The one with mayo and raisins and bacon and onions (and maybe
sunflower seeds or something)?

Well, all my bacon is in the freezer, so I fried up a little onion in
some bacon grease and added it to chopped cooked broccoli, some mayo,
and some raisins.

Damn, this shit is good. My arteries are probably screaming for mercy,
but damn.

The cornbread recipe is still undecided, it will have to be gluten-free,
though.

Serene mentioned this salad, then Wayne Boatwright said it was a Marcia
Adams recipes. That information helped me find the recipe. In August, I
tasted this recipe in Ohio and I really enjoyed it.

I think I am making Maria Pia's meatloaf (must defrost meats) and the
Philly Butter cake.

For those chatting, what time are we starting?

I have at least 3, maybe 4 flourless corn bread recipes on file that
I've been collecting from here. :-) Need some?

Does it really have to be a recipe posted here? I am marinating some beef
tenderloin tips right now to do something with tomorrow.

Thanks! That sounds great. I have been looking for some good salad recipes
to take to church dinners, and this sounds perfect. It's interesting that
it was on a site with Amish recipes and that you tasted it in Ohio because I
grew up in Ohio (now live in Texas). I will enjoy making it.

You can lead that one blake. I'll make either martinis or rusty
nails, depending on my mood that day.

OK, sounds like a booze-along is a definite go! Maybe we should do it
for the holiday season. Blake is nominated to lead of course, but I'm
sure somebody will step up to the plate if he doesn't.

We'll call it a Booze-Along, the phrase is kinda catchy. Social hour
over the internet. Remember it's always cocktail hour somewhere in
the world!

Hmm. I'm thinking a Scarlet O'Hara is more christmasy... cranberry
juice and southern comfort. Eggnog, hot buttered rum or maybe a hot
toddy. I'm not opposed to using Tom and Jerry mix from a jar.

If you're a beer guy, look for xmas ale/porter/stout.

There's something for everyone, even non (alcohol) drinkers!

With a twist of lime. Yum! Those are good year 'round.
They'd look pretty in a punch bowl sitting on some Christmas
greens for a party with lime slices floating in the bowl.
