Am I completely off the page when I ask if those are the crispy
things covered with sugar you find at Easter? Yeah, I'm wrong.
I bought a box of them once, they are like rosettes (sp) you get
at Christmas.

(laugh) I bought them once (the Easter ones) and almost fell over
to find out they were like $13 a box. Holy Cow! They were very
good, anyway.

Krumkake are made like a pizzelle -- batter dropped onto a special
closable griddle surface -- but rolled immediately on removal from the
griddle -- usually around a wood cone. Sometimes filled with whipped
cream just before serving. We like them plain. The crumbles are nice
on ice cream, too. Instead of rolling the krumkake, you can also form
them over an upside down custard cup to make a shell for holding a light
filling.

You're thinking of chruschiki, I'll bet. Mom called them crullers. The
Scandinavians (Swedes for sure) call them fattigmand. More than one
culture does that fried-dough-dusted-with-powdered-sugar thang. I don't
think you're thinking of rosettes, but maybe. That's a batter on a
form, deep fried for not very long, then drained and dusted with
powdered sugar or granulated at serving time. They're good, too. :-)

I just picked up two more of those seafood cheese spread containers from
Sam's. I'll bring one to Thanksgiving Dinner and keep one here for my
personal and private enjoyment. :-)
