Of course, health codes (in the US) generally only prohibit direct contact with food for ready to serve food; you can touch it with bare hands if it's going to be cooked (though I'd imagine a lemon in the mouth would be prohibited regardless). -- to respond, change "spamless.invalid" with "optonline.net" please mail OT responses only |

A lot of stuff that these TV chefs do where they get their hands messed (squeezing lemons through their fingers, sepatating eggs with their fingers) seems to be someone's idea of sensuous. It takes the same amount of time to separate an egg with the shells, plus you don't have to worry about washing up vs. leaving egg handprints all over the kitchen and utensils. It makes me want to wash my hands. Ick. Luckily I don't see that very often. nancy |

Yeah, I imagine, although his teeth only touched the peel of the lemon, not anything anyone was going to eat. Seemed pretty effective, too. Me, I'll just use my wooden reamer. nancy |

I do it (as does my mother) without thought of hygiene per se, more because we'd have to take them off anyway later in order to clean the stuff out from under them. She had such a hard life, so she's in love and is happy. Not too bad for someone who was afraid to leave the house for years. nancy |

Darn - I wanted to see the show where she got married... oh, well, that's what I get for never reading a tv guide. Practice safe eating - always use condiments |

If I were a hard core fan, I would've TiVo'd it. I've never seen a bride so happy with the *process* of getting married. Most seem so stressed out that it's amazing anyone wants into that mess. |
