Default soda siphon - tips, ideas, recipes?

Hi all,
I finally broke down and bought a soda siphon. I'm a little bit disappointed
that it says in the instructions not to put juice in there. Has anybody tried
it and survived? I'm wondering if it's really OK to do, but they don't want to
tell you that in the instructions

Also, I'd love to hear some recipes for spritzy drinks, and tips or tricks for
getting best results.

Thanks in advance,
Jen

It will gum up the works, and the internal parts are almost impossible to clean
out, leaving the potential for exposure to nasty germs. It is a much better idea
to add the carbonated water to juice or concentrate.

You might want to try it out first before shooting it into a glass of juice, or
booze, because they really shoot.

I found the gas cartridges to be a little pricey in grocery stores, but a fraction
of those prices in restaurant supply stores.

I did a trial run, and it didn't carbonate very well, I must say. (This is an
expensive model - I expect it to work well. It must be me.)

What's the secret? I chilled the water in the bottle before putting the charger
in, and gave it a few shakes afterwards, as instructed. I wonder if maybe I
didn't screw the top on tight enough...a little bit dribbled out of the seal.
