I was mistaken about the toffee--the walnuts were on top of the brownie, and the caramel on top of the nuts. As I was eating this dessert yesterday, my upper teeth bit into the caramel first, and quickly into the next layer, the nuts. The flavour of the caramel plus the immediate crunch of the nuts led me to mistakenly think there were toffee chips. In any case, it is one of my new favourite bakery items. ![]() bakery has a nice cookbook with recipes by the owner, including the caramel brownies. I will probably pick up a copy in the next few days. Derek Juhl |
