I like to stuff peppers with raw long-grained rice, chopped onion, ground beef,
an egg and seasonings, and bake in a tomato sauce, covered. Because of the raw
rice this takes some time. I'll "baste" some of the sauce over the peppers once
in a while while they're baking.

It took me years to discover this, but plain old spaghetti goes very well with
this. The tomato sauce gets flavor from the peppers and the spaghetti is
great with the sauce on it.

I hope this meal doesn't give you a bad reaction and that you both really enjoy
it!
It's one of my favorites.

I've always loved mashed potatoes with stuffed peppers.

Good luck with the food intake; hope everything *ahem* comes out alright.

Default Oh God: Dinner Tonight

Our weekend was various and splendid, having been at an SF convention.

Breakfast -- (unison, chorus) Oatmeal!

The con suite had some of the most delicious falafil I'd ever eaten! Slightly
dry, not too spicy, exquisitely savory. Also two doughnuts . . . peer
pressure, whadaItellya.

Lunch -- I ate at Ikea for the first time! (I've led a sheltered life.) Lox!
Expensive, worth every penny.

Dinner -- green squash cooked in beef broth and canned mackerel.

WAYNE????
I sincerely doubt it!
In fact I would wager virtual money on that.

I'm "around" Wayne's age and I can tell you that a bathroom
telephone was the height of chic in those days... THINK: It
was BC (Before Cordless)

No need to equate the fact that he lives in AZ now (not
then) with guns.... although I can wrap my mind around a
fridge in the bathroom (designers take note).

Recharge it or buy a new battery before you give it last
rites.

Kili will be the last word on this problem (IMO), so I will
bow to her opinion.

It was indeed, and during those years I was on call 24/7. A call was
not to be missed. Just think...3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, and 9 phones (1
in the kitchen and 1 in the den). During that time I worked for the
phone company.

The only gun I ever owned was a flare gun kept on the boat.

Fridge in the bathroom? Not a bad idea overall. Handy for beverages,
astringents, etc., not to mix up the two. I think it was Joan Crawford
who had a tiny freezer in her master bathroom. It was used to store ice
which she would heap in a bowl and pour witchazel over it to repeatedly
splash over her face. I am *not* suggesting you do this sf!
