D made a really tasty couple of salads for dinner tonight. One with
leftover baked chicken and toasted almonds and I know not what was my
favorite. She preferred her roasted baby eggplant and roasted red
bell pepper salad, I believe. There were slices of Pecos cantaloupe,
too. Love those Pecos melons.

I think that's probably why I jumped into this thread -- I usually
ignore them. MN's one of the swing states and I've been seeing
political ads on tv since April or May and I was tired of it then.

OB Food:

{Mystically and Bi-Partisanly Exported from MasterCook Mac }

Barfburgers

Recipe By: Posted by Barb Schaller to r.f.cooking 7-29-04
Serving Size: 24
Preparation Time: 0:00
Categories: Appetizers/Nibblers

Amount Measure Ingredient Preparation Method
1 pound ground beef
1 pound Jimmy Dean bulk pork sausage
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 pound Velveeta cheese cubed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 to 1-1/2 loaves party rye bread

Cook meats and green pepper; drain and add Velveeta slowly. Add rest of
ingredients. Spread on party rye bread slices and heat in oven 10-15
minutes or broil (till bubbly) when ready to serve. Makes enough for
about 1-1/2 loaves of party rye bread.

These can be prepared and frozen on trays or in bags until ready to heat.

Perhaps Nancree is indicating that it would have been her wish to see
this drivel published in USA Today. But then again, what do you expect
an unrepentant Marxist such as myself to see in this posting? ;-)

It's the least I can do for a friend.

OB Food: Just came from the farmers market with tonight's sweet corn
and green beans. They will accompany Sloppy Joes. I figure I should
use up that ground beef that's been in the fridge since Sunday. Sloppy
Joes are a good way to make sure it's well-cooked.

What thread... the Nancree thing?

Jeeze! You coulda put "was" in front of your new subject
line so that people like me wouldn't be left scratching
their heads, wondering what this is all about.

Otherwise, I forgive you - apology accepted.

She's like the person who one time gets drunk and has everyone in
stitches w/ the shit they say, but then go on to think that it's funny
every single time, only as is the case with everything, it gets old
after a while

She's a great writer, but limits her own legitimacy by sinking so low.
