Default Cleaning teflon

Does anyone else encounter a problem with cleaning oil off of teflon
pans after sauteing? I find that their is always some amount of oil
that dries onto the pan, and it will not come off in the dishwasher. By
the time I'm done cleaning off that oil, the pan is cleaned, and I've
ended up doing the dishwasher's work. Any suggestions?

Rinse under the faucet while pan is still hot. Dry with paper towel. Some
small coating of oil is not all bad.

I haven't had Teflon cookware in a long while, but if memory serves the
manufacturers of Teflon-coated pans recommend NOT putting them in the
dishwasher. Damages the nonstick surface, if I remember right.

Yup. Don't worry about it. Just heat the pan for a few minutes
prior to using it. That will kill any germs. The tiny bit of
oil residue on the pan won't hurt anything.

I make sure the pan is hot, run it under hot water until it stops
sizzling and wipe with a paper towel. Works fine.

While Teflon coated pans should not be placed in the dishwasher, I would
wonder if the pan is not damaged if it retains oil after washing.

You're correct in that manufacturers recommend against washing teflon
(or teflon-like) materials in the dishwasher. My teflon pans are my
cheap ones though, and I'm not inclined to handwash every time that I
make an egg. I'll try the suggestion about cleaning the pan while hot.

Thanks everyone.

My Farberwear, as far as I knew, is coated in teflon, and it says it's
dishwasher safe...

Maybe it's not teflon, but don't know what else it could be

If you got stubborn fried-on grease on any pan - Pour a cup of household
ammonia into the pan. Put it in a plastic garbage bag and tie it tight to
seal in fumes. Let it sit a day. Remove pan and wipe loosened grease out
with non-abrasive scrubber or sponge.
