For the residents of California, upper midwest,& southeast have any of
you eaten at Bakers Square restaurant? They have the best pies especially their crusts and wondering if some one has cloned their recipe yet. Farmer Jacks grocery chain -michigan-has been selling them in their bakery aisle but last I looked price has hit $9.25 which is a bit high for me. Just thought I try here first. http://www.bakerssquarerestaurants.com/ |

Their crust is much better than frozen pie crust, but not any better than any fresh pie crust. My wife buys a lot of Baker's Square pies at their local restaurant. I like their French Silk pies, but most of the others I think I can do a better job myself (and have a 10" pie instead of an 8") I could probably do as good a job with the french silk pie too, but a 10" silk pie would be dangerous. They were even better when they were "Pop n Fresh", before being sold to Baker's Square. > Farmer Jacks grocery chain -michigan-has been selling them in their > bakery aisle but last I looked price has hit $9.25 which is a bit high > for me. > Just thought I try here first. > http://www.bakerssquarerestaurants.com/ > > -- Wayne in Phoenix If there's a nit to pick, some nitwit will pick it. |

What happened to Chef Pierre pies? They were the cornerstone of store bought pies when I lived there. Practice safe eating - always use condiments |

I, too, loved those pies! But Chef Pierre went the way of most great
companies: they were bought out. Pet did the deed, kept the same pie for a while, and then axed the subsidiary. Too much competition for other, lousy Pet company pies sold under other names.
