FOX Cooks Up 'Hell's Kitchen'


FOX will give would-be chefs a chance to run their own restaurant
later this
year with an unscripted show called "Hell's Kitchen."

Based on a British series of the same name, "Hell's Kitchen" will take
a
group of aspiring chefs and restaurateurs -- experienced or not -- and
put
them to the flame at a new, "top-class" restaurant in Los Angeles.
Cameras
will follow them on and off the job as they compete for the right to
run the
restaurant on their own.

Overseeing them will be Gordon Ramsay, a Scottish chef who owns one of
only
two Michelin three-star restaurants in the U.K. The one-time
footballer also
fronted the British version of "Hell's Kitchen," which had a
successful run
on ITV earlier this year.

A perfectionist with a short temper, Ramsay has become famous in his
home
country for his televised tantrums on "Hell's Kitchen" and another
show,
"Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares," as well as for his cooking. He'll have
the
final say on the winner.

Granada Entertainment and A. Smith & Co. are producing "Hell's
Kitchen" for
FOX. Casting calls have already taken place, but would-be contestants
can
still apply for the show at FOX.com.
