Which is Australian for "My Penzey's order just arrived!" Herbie's Spices
being a similar online spice store type of situation in Sydney. Amongst other things I took delivery of some ground chipotle chilli which worked very well in an unlikely collection of "stuff" found lurking in the fridge. It really transformed an otherwise ordinary "empty the fridge" dish. Chipotle powder is not easy to come by here, nor are many of the other ingredients that Herbie's sells. They are quick to fill orders (I ordered online on Monday -it arrived Tuesday) I ordered Ras el Hanout, Herbes de Provence and Chermoula Spice amongst other things. Can't be bothered making them up myself. The spices are very fresh and hey- it's fun opening the package and dreaming up new ways to use interesting ingredients. @@@@@ Now You're Cooking! Export Format Three Pepper Chipotle Combo none 5 chicken thigh fillets 2 large chicken sausages 1 green capsicum; chopped 1 red capsicum; chopped 1 yellow capsicum; chopped 1 spanish onion; chopped 2 stick celery; chopped 3 large cloves of garlic; chopped 1 can tomato; chopped in large pieces 20 black olives, chopped 3 tblsp dry sherry 1 large sprig fresh thyme 1 large sprig rosemary 1/2 tsp chipotle chilli powder 3 tbsp pine kernels; toasted Fry the chicken and sauages in olive oil until browned. Remove and chop into bite sized pieces. Put the sausage slices back in the pan and continue to fry until quite brown. Fry the next 6 ingredients until caramelised. Return the chicken thigh pieces to the frypan and add the tomato, sherry, olives, herbs and chipotle. Cook on for 10-15 minutes or so until the vegetables are softened and the chicken cooked. Add the pine kernels and serve with rice, polenta. couscous etc. Richard. |

I've used his spiced wine vinegar and enjoyed it very much. AFA online ordering, though, I don't think it's a secure site. I haven't told him about that (which would prevent me from ordering, apart from the fact that we're a few continents apart) or of the other typos and inconsistencies I note in the site. I had a quick look at the link you provided. The site needs a bit of work,
but the recipes look great. It's not a secure site, nor is it easy to navigate for ordering, but I'll keep checking back. He could check herbies site for some ideas. www.herbies.com.au cheers, Richard.
