You need to clean Teflon w/o harsh chemicals and/or abrasives. When the pan shows wear, throw it away and start again fresh w/a new cheap pan. |

I can find it myself! Might be both. I couldn't get the msnbc file for whatever reason. Laer that evening, I heard that they're complaining about the chemicals found in the water downstream of the plant, and also the 90% of the population that has traces of the same chemical in their bloodstream. Safety recommendations were not to heat the pans or pots over 500 degrees F, which the Science guy from CI was testing at their test kitchen, and as kswck pointed out, toss the pan when the coating starts to peel. As my DH put it: maybe the teflon in our bloodstream will help keep our arteries open longer.... thanks, maxine in ri |
