Default So what did you drink on New Year's Eve?

At a private party last night I had -

3 or 4 Stoli and tonics

1 glass of Hynotiq on the rocks (didn't really like it)

2 glasses of Cristal Brut '96 (midnight toast)

No hangover today.

We spent NYE home together, just the two of us. We each drank a bottle of
sparkling cider (non-alcoholic). No hangover today. <G>

I didn't drink much -- just a couple glasses of Veuve Clicquot.

At a Russian club I had shots of what they (the Russians) claimed was the Number
One vodka, bar none. It was excellent. I asked what the name of it was and was
told "Russian Standard." I've never heard of it. That's an odd name for
something that's supposed to be the tops. Believe me, it did taste above and
beyond any vodka I've ever had, it was very elite. Maybe it also has a Russian
name.

Hangover today.

Actually, here's a link to the vodka you're talking about. I've never
tried it, but am going to buy a bottle.

I believe that "Standard" is the direct translation from the Russian. I've
heard so much about this vodka! I would very much like to try it. I thought
that it was unavailable in the U.S. I heard, but have no direct knowledge,
that is about the cheapest vodka in Russia. I am sure, however, that that
won't be the case in the U.S. if it is imported.

That's it. Although I don't recall it smelling anything like cat's

Clinked snifters of Remy Martin with the beloved spouse at midnight. Then
adjourned to the street where our quiet little neighborhood traditionally
congregates on New Year's Eve just after midnight to swap good wishes and watch
the kids set off fireworks left over from the Fourth of July. Our days of
holiday overindulgence in the grape are but a misty memory...thank God.

Awww...I remember the year a client sent me not one, but two bottles of
Cristal. One of them was drunk with my SO in the hot tub on Christmas Eve, the
other with friends on Valentine's Day.

I'm glad you didn't have a hangover.

I didn't drink anything last night, but I did drink a nice Murphy-Goode
Cabernet Sauvignon on the beach tonight - watching the first sunset of the
year.

Two Manhattans before dinner, a bottle of Riesling and a
1/2 bottle of Chardonay with dinner, a glass of brandy
after dinner, and a glass of Gran Marnier at midnight.. I
was up at 7:30 am with no hangover and baking a Black
Forest Cake at 8:00 am.

Boy did I ever get confused reading this post!

I read about the two manhattans and I thought "WHOA, this guy can
*drink*!"....but then I saw the chardonay and I was like "WTF? What
kind of manly man drinks *chardonay*?".....and then when I saw the part
about baking a cake, I thought "What kind of woman is named *Dave*?"

Pretty confusing.....
