Default sorrel -- how toxic?

I bought a large bunch of sorrel the other day, and put it
into a vegetable broth to be served with soba. It tastes great --
wonderful green sour/bitter flavor -- but I wonder how lightly
I should tread. The stuff is mildly toxic isn't it? What's
the recommended dosage??

Here's Mrs Grieves's take on sorrel:

Don't think it's toxic in the quantities normally consumed. Like many
plants it will absorb heavy metals from the soil, which could make it
toxic.
