Default pepper pizza topping

What exactly is the reddish pepper spice/granules that all pizza parlors
have on the tables? Do supermarkets sell it? Thanks.

Yes, look in any grocery store spice aisle. Crushed red
pepper. Or check out Penzey's

Any Indian Market, by the pound. At CostCo in large containers are
McCormicks spices[the worst choice]. Penzeys as per the other post. You
don't really need to go half way across the country to find it, unless
you live in Northern Wisconsin, or some other culinary wasteland.

Its dried pepper flakes. I don't know where you live, but
where I live (New Jersey), I would be hard pressed to find
any food store that didn't sell dried pepper flakes. Just
look in your favorite grocery store's spices section.
