I can find several Web sources for things like bomba rice and Serrano ham,
but can't help but wonder if there isn't a source nearby. YP is of no help at all these days. In general, how does one find local sources of specialty ingredients? TIA Ed |

Serrano ham is getting easier and easier to find in even middle-of-the-road delicatessens. Neil |

The Spanish Table (http://www.tablespan.com/) lists a store in Berkeley.

I visited Bristol Farms in Newport Beach today. Thed had Seranno ham and
Manchego cheese, but no Bomba rice, no pimenton, no Saichichon. The things they did have were about 10% higher than the prices at http://www.tienda.com/. I expect the shipping charges will wipe out the savings of online ordering, but the convenience of ordering everything form one place is attractive, so that's where I'm leaning. Yet, I still have the feeling that there is some marvelous, little shop 10 miles away with all these goodies. It's a great store. You can get all the good stuff the serrano ham, manchego cheese, membrillo, good smoked Spanish paprika, and olive oils and just everything. Gorgeous paella pans, but I still haven't managed to save enough $$$ to buy one <G>. You should go there sometime! Lisette |
