Do beans and eggs make an edible combination? I was thinking of
trying bean burrito filling (refried beans, chili powder, onions, cumin, orgeno, green chilis) with eggs - maybe mixed with scrambled or in an omelet. Anyone ever tried anything like this? I could just give it a try but hate to waste the food if it's not edible. TIA Ken -- Untie the two knots to email me |

I don't see why it wouldn't be ok. Doesn't sound gross. (at least to me) |

I grew up eating beans / eggs / hashbrowns, for breakfast although the beans were "Boston Baked bean" type, and it didn't hurt me, ( I'm 6' 51/2" and weigh in at 265lbs <g>.. ) Happy Eating Eric |

Anyone ever tried anything like this? It sounds like a menu item at the restaurant I frequent. I have one every few weeks. |

And breakfast plates in Mexican/Tex-Mex places usually include refried beans and rice to accompany the migas, huevos rancheros, etc. |

Terrific for breakfast. Use a large corn tortilla for more taste.
Add chopped tomatoes, cheese, bacon and anything else. Great and fast. Matt Ken Knecht wrote: > Do beans and eggs make an edible combination? Black bean paste and huevos rancheros is quite big in Central America. Don't forget the hot sauce. |

Another being egg, bacon, potato and chile sauce of some sort or else just diced green chiles. Kind of an excess of protein of course, but tasty anyway LOL! |

Honestly! Bit of overkill to put mornay sauce on lobster Thermidor LOL. It doesn't go with spam at all. |

> Do beans and eggs make an edible combination? Oh Hell yes! One of my favorite breakfasts. It started with huevos rancheros ...fried eggs & salsa... with a side order of refried beans at some taquiria. I liked it so much I tried it at home. Loving both eggs over easy and refried beans, I just cut to the chase. I heat up some refritos, slide the fried eggs on top, puncture the yolks, and top the whole thing with salsa cruda. An ice cold beer, some warm flour tortillas, and I'm ready to read the Sunday funnies ...or snooze till noon... whichever comes first. ![]() nb |

I've certainly had some flops doing that but I've also had some pretty good results as well. |

With eggs in the morning, I will open a can of either pinto or black beans
(Goya if you prefer) and add a teaspoon of some puree of Chipotle (just grind up a can of Chipotle with Adobe sauce and keep it in your refrigerator). If you like the taste of chipotle, you can also have on hand to add to your eggswhile they are cooking, a butter which has been mixed with a little of this chipotle puree. A tortilla is a good choice for bread. You can if you want spread this butter/puree mixture on your tortilla or put honey on it. A pre-made large Costco pita cut in half and put in the toaster is great with honey on it too as a little desert for this breakfast. Dee "Blair P.
