Default Looks like spagetti and gravy for dinner.

I had a large "glut" of tomatoes ripen just recently. I've spend the
last 5 hours peeling and cutting those suckers. And that's after
pawning, er... giving all my neighbors whatever they wanted.

Two hugh pots on the stove now simmering down and 5 pounds in reserve
to make my new batch of gloria p's (actually, I'm gonna vary the
recipe) tomato wine. But that won't happen until tomorrow. I finally
found a 10 gallon food grade bucket at the local restaurant supply
store so it' should be big enough this time. ;-)

So, I was thinkin' (I know, I know... and no, I didn't hurt myself)
being that it's the opening day of the NFL (well, not really but it is
for me) I figure I'll make some fresh gravy with sausage and meatballs
(yes Shel, with fresh ground pork and beef), a salad and some garlic
(home grown german red of course) bread.

Save me a meatball, I may be a little late depending upon airline times.

Actually, you may want to come for next Saturdays "End of summer"
party instead. Salad (mixed greens, roasted red peppers, fresh
mozzarella, italian black and green olives and plumb tomatoes with a
balsamic vinaigrette), stuffed mushrooms, sausage and peppers, veggie
lasagna, meat lasagna, and meatballs on the side. Chocolate chip
cannoli for dessert of course. (Sense an italian theme maybe? ;-) )

Fly into Stewart International Airport (Newburgh, NY) on Friday and
I'll pick ya up. Spare room's waiting and Nancy says that you're
welcome (with a a companion of course). ;-)

Now, *that* won't be a problem. A wide selection will be available.
Plenty of "vino" too (as well as a variety of other spirits) but
that's not my "job". I don't care for wine so I leave that up to Nancy
and Shari.

I didn't realize that that's where you live, Steve. I lived up in Red Hook
(across from Kingston) for a couple of years. I worked at a sock place -
miserable job - down in New Paltz for a few months.

I'd love to take you up on your offer, but I'm afraid that you wouldn't have
enough cooler or fridge space to supply me and TFM with beer. Just post
pix. :~)

You gonna make it to Bugg's next month?

Ah yes, know 'em all rather well ('cept the sock place). Spent a bit
of time in Red Hook (Nancy's sister lives there). I kind of shy away
from New Paltz since I've outgrown my "hippy days". Been here 30
years. "Transplant" from mountains in NW PA (still "home" btw).

As for the cooler/fridge space, wanna bet? Fridge and six 6 coolers
available along with a 1/2 on tap in the Keg-o-rater. That enough? ;-)

Well, honestly if you're ever back this way, you and TFM are most
welcome. Pool table's down stairs if ya like to play. (of course,
gambling is not allowed as it's illegal ;-) )

We wouldn't consider an illegal activity! :~) If I get transplanted to
Florida, we'll have to come check it out up there. I wouldn't mind seeing
the old stomping grounds again. I'm still hoping he does the relocating;
Hawaii is much prettier than Florida. Hee hee.

It's spaghetti sauce in my house today, too, Steve. And of course,
the obligatory meatball must be stolen during the afternoon.

Today it's my "Chili From The Pantry" for late afternoon dinner and
leftovers for later in the week. With lots of errands and two new kittens,
I just didn't feel like mucking about in the kitchen today.

2 new kittens! It's hard enough with one! LOL. Feisty little devils get
into everything, don't they? I've got two adult fat and happy cats now and
it's so much easier until you throw the dog into the mix. :~)

All this and you claim your not in the mood? I wasn't in the mood to cook
so I opened a can of green beans and ate them right out of the can. THAT's
what I call not being in the mood. I hate canned beans. Ick.

kili, we have a very anal retentive 12 y.o. female persian with a bobtail
who we keep clipped in a lion cut; a 6 y.o. roly-poly male leopard tabby
who is more devoted to me than any dog I've ever owned; and now we have
added the 2 kittens. They are 4 months old males, black & white tuxedos,
one with a bobtail and the other tailless. They are both very lovable
and people oriented, and since they are from the same litter, they play
together incessantly. Our tabby was a bit standoffish at first, but now
he grooms both of them and they groom him. Our female hates the sight of
all three of the others! It's a circus, I tell you!

Let us know how you vary the wine recipe, and of course how it
turns out.

All we've gotten are cherry tomatoes and the small yellow
pear tomatoes. The large-sized ones aren't ripening at
all. It's always a race here between ripening standard
tomatoes and the first frost/snowfall. My two eggplant
plants have one fruit each, about 3 inches long. This
climate stibnks for gardening.

awww. Enjoy the two new additions. Ours is getting "up there" but
hopefully will survive quite a lot longer. (She's goin' on 12, Toni's
the name).

I don't know how it's going to come out but I have a woman making a
hand painted sculpture of her. It should be done in a month or so.
I've seen her work. She made sculptures of a friend of mines three
cats and they were extremely good. I sent her pictures and she's
working from those. Send me an email if you'd like to see the
original pics and the resultant piece. I asked her to make it about 3"
long. If you'd like to see what she has to work with here's a url to
Toni's pics:

We've been watching them very closely, and I don't really think there's
any threat from Millie. She just wants to be left alone. If they get
too close to her, she screams at them and they run like hell! Still,
we'll continue keeping a watchful eye. We think that she thinks she's
the dowager empress, and all should do her bidding. :-)

Great Michael! Good feeling isn't it. Congratulations on being able
to get back and do it!

Well, what I plan on is to include the oranges this time ;-D , cut the
sugar back by 1 lb, and use brewers yeast. The batch I made 2 years
ago (hmm, doesn't seem like that long ago.) is still a little sweet
for my tastes, although it's very good for after dinner sippin'.

Only problem with lettin' ya know is that it'll probably be another
couple of years before I know, but I'll post the results when it's
opened.

That's my Moire' too, Wayne, the little bitch! In fact, she was blocking
the dog from coming over to me just a few minutes ago. He got around her,
she got angry (I'm her personal slave, she thinks, and doesn't like to share
me), so she just pooped on the floor! Swear to god! Right in front of me,
like no more than 15 minutes ago! She can't stand the dog and only
tolerates the other cat. Moire' doesn't play well with others.

At least he helps, that's a plus. I have to make dinner AND do dishes AND
put it all away. But then again, this will all be over soon. 4 more weeks,
4 more weeks! Those of you from ABF and AFB know exactly what I'm talking
about.......... <g>

Luckily mine don't bother me that way - 'course I don't sleep more than a
couple hours a night anyway. It's the damn dog! In/out, in/out, in/out,
in/out from about midnight until 8 am. Drives me INSANE. Every couple of
minutes he's at it, but I think he does it more because Moire' sits in
doorway and he likes to bug her.

Ours is pretty good. She just comes strolling in about 3am or so and
give's a little "meow". I pat the bed and say "come on" and plop, up
on the bed and right over my legs usually. Stays there till I stir. I
guess I'm spoiled.

I'm seriously amazed at the patience people have with their pets.

Yeah, the dog is spoiled. I know it and I've done it. I may be relocating
soon and if I am a doggy door will be installed for this very reason.
