From what I know about colors, black is the combination of all colors. So
the more colors you mix, the darker you'll get it. Claudia "Mark" > wrote in message om... > Hi Cookers, we are trying to make a spiderman cake, we can't get the > blue icing dark enough. we are using food colouring. Any suggestions. |

I'm sure you can find it at a cake/candy decorating store if you have one. nancy |

Go to a shop that sells cake decorating supplies and buy paste coloring rather than the liquid kind. I makes a huge difference to achieve dark color. gloria p |

Try getting paste food colourings from a bakery supply or cake decorating shop. The colours are more intense than with supermarket liquid food colouring. Also the range of colours is greater. |

The gel type is more intense and is used if you're trying to color a large amount (several pounds) of icing. The liquid paste is used if you only want to color a small amount of icing. |
