Default blue icing, how do we make it dark?

Hi Cookers, we are trying to make a spiderman cake, we can't get the
blue icing dark enough. we are using food colouring. Any suggestions.

From what I know about colors, black is the combination of all colors. So
the more colors you mix, the darker you'll get it.

Go to a shop that sells cake decorating supplies and
buy paste coloring rather than the liquid kind. I
makes a huge difference to achieve dark color.

Try getting paste food colourings from a bakery supply or cake
decorating shop. The colours are more intense than with supermarket
liquid food colouring. Also the range of colours is greater.

Go to a cake decorating supply store and ask for royal blue paste coloring.
There's a liquid paste and a gel type paste. The gel type is more intense and
is used if you're trying to color a large amount (several pounds) of icing.
The liquid paste is used if you only want to color a small amount of icing.
