Default Is there anything in waxed paper that's carcinogenic?

I've been using it to cover food in the microwave since I no longer use
plastic in the microwave. Thx.

Does using wax paper leave a residue on your food after nuking?

Can't imagine it is cancerous. It was introduced as a food packaging,
wasn't it?

You could try parchment paper if you just need a loose cover.

I remember, as a kid, ironing the Autumn leaves inbetween sheets of wax
paper. :-)

Of course it's carcinogenic! Where have you been? *Everything* is
carcinogenic. Reading Newsgroups is especially bad. Writing to them
is worse...

Cheers, Phred.

Hey, we did that too! That was so cool. I think
I'll take a roll of waxed paper with me on my trip
to Vermont in a couple of weeks and collect some
leaves and make me some of those thingymajiggies.

Ya know, I was tempted to say the same thing.
It boggles my mind that people go around worrying
about stuff like that. Aluminum foil, Teflon,
etc. Sure, I wouldn't move in next to Love Canal,
but I don't go around worrying about carcinogens
in everything I touch or eat. There's better stuff
to do.

I find a paper plate works well and isn't nearly as expensive as parchment
paper.
