I came across a recipe today while thumbing through a very old
"collections" type cookbook. It was attributed to the Bevo Mill.

Does the Bevo Mill still exist? I remember half a century ago it was
considered a rather good German restaurant. I was only a kid when I went
there with my parents, but I remember thinking the food was good.

We had our High School Reunion there just a week ago. The weather was warm
and the place was hot. The employees said the AC was on full blast, but it
just could not handle all the people. Very uncomfortable. We were told
that the Bevo Mill does not serve customers regular meals on a daily basis
anymore. Now it is just used for renting for weddings, meetings, reunions,
etc. Hopefully most people rent it in cooler weather or maybe then will get
new AC.

I'm sorry to hear that! It always seemed such a landmark, having been
there for the better part of century. Prehaps one day new
owners/management might breath new life into it.

Thanks, Michael. According to another poster, LB, who was there just last
week for a class reunion, Bevo Mill no longer serves the general public,
but only rents out for receptions, parties, etc. They seem to agree with
you about the food, and the A/C was also inadequate for the crowd.

More's the pity. It was kind of a grand old place.
