Does anyone have a Zojirushi NS-PC10 rice cooker? I need to know the
volume of the cup it comes with. Thanks! Daniel Drucker |

That's just the problem. I've been experimenting with ratios ever since
I lost the cup three months ago. After something like 15 tries I still haven't pegged it. Daniel Drucker |

But for your personal prefference you might need 1 or 2 tbsps of water more...or less. depending on wether you like sticky or not so sticky rice. Usually if it is a long grain white rice it uses 1 cup rice to 2 cups liquid (water). The rice cooker doesn't change the rice or how it absorbs water. So follow the instructions for ratios on the rice pkg (this time). Next time try one tbsp less water for less sticky or 1 tbsp more water for more sticky. and go from there. (write it down.) If 1 tbsp either way works for you great then stop. If not try 2. but usually 2 is about as far as I would go. After that try adding some (say a tbsp) of chicken stock powder (less salty than a cube). Or of beef stock powder or veggies stock powder. This works just fine in my cheapie Black and Decker Rice cooker so it should work in your more $$ model. So get out your standard 1 cup 8 fluid oz measuring cup and make the rice. -- Last year's nuts must go. - Michael Odom |

The volume of the measuring cup for my Zojirushi rice cooker is about seven fluid ounces (7/8 of a cup), or just under 200 ml. Only thing is, the model number is NS-MYC18, so the cup size might be different from yours. Bob |

I am talking most white long grain rices here. Don't > let that little cup throw you off and confuse you. Also 2:1 is *not* correct for all kinds of rice - for example jasmine is perfect with a 1.5:1 ratio in my cooker. I have owned 2 rice cookers, although not the brand/model mentioned, and in both of them the measuring cup was about 7/8 of a standard cup. -- Peter Aitken Remove the crap from my email address before using. |
