Pizza Hut Cheese
 
Pizza Hut pizza has a cheese that tastes very distinctive.
I would like to use it in my own pizza. Anyone know what's in it?

Pizza Hut uses Leprino's mozzarella; apparently Leprino's has an
exclusive deal with them. Leprino's, based in Denver, is the largest
producer of what passes for mozzarella in the US.

Another huge producer of cheese for the fast-food trade is the giant
Hilmar Cheese Co. in California. But I don't think Hilmar does a lot
of business with Pizza Hut, because of the well-publicized exclusive
deal with Leprino's. The best Hilmar cheeses, not the stuff they sell
in million-pound lots to fast-food chains, can be very good indeed.

To each his own taste, but I can't for the life of me find anything
distinctive or even pleasant in Pizza Hut's cheeses.

Back in the early 1990's, an ex-employee told me that pizza hut used
imitation cheese.

Perhaps it was true or maybe not. Today, who knows?

Pizza Hut buys only from Leprino, they have a local plant and prduce
abour 250,000 lbs per day in that plant alone. Another plant in
Denver.

Tell me about it. I pretty much tried every pizza place in my area,
until I found a really good one. They make an extra-large for a little
under $15, which isn't too bad.

But most of all the reason I go back is the service. I usually go out
and get the pizza myself, instead of having it delivered. And even
though I do it fairly infrequently, they still remember me at the place.

There's actually another place a little bit closer, whose pizza is
pretty good, and the price is about the same. But because of the
service, I always go back to that other one. Good service goes a long
way.

Anyway, father-in-law always insists on getting Domino's. I just can't
understand it. Well, it's his money. I tried to tell him, but he's
stubborn as a block of wood. ;)

And after I've put on my flame resistant underwear, I must say that
out of pizza chains, Papa John's is pretty good.

Most of all, the reason he goesback to Dominos is the service.
It is quick and easy, and they remember him at the place.
