Default Surf and leftover Turf

So, sf got me thinking about doing a surf and turf dish with some of
the prime rib left over from yesterday.

I had some shrimp in the freezer so I thought they'd be good in some
kind of a sauce. First I thought about a white sauce, then I thought
maybe a garlic sauce, then I went back to a white sauce.

I started by cutting some pieces of the roast into equal pieces.

Then I diced the shrimp.

To the white sauce I added some thyme and the diced shrimp.

Then the puff pastry was rolled it out and cut it into four equal
pieces.

On top of each piece of the pastry was placed a piece of prime rib,
and some spinach leaves.

That was topped with the shrimp sauce.

The pastry square was then brushed with an egg wash.

The four corners were brought together in the middle and the edges
were pinched together to form a bundle.

The bundles were baked in a 425* oven until golden brown.
One didn't quite hold together but it was tasty anyway.

Time to dive in.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The shrimp sauce was
delicious and added a richness to the dish.

OMG... it was like reading a mystery book. What's going to happen
next? Glad you liked the surf and turf idea, you did a great
interpretation! I wish I was that creative with leftovers.

Heh, you're welcome. If someone started a food blog about using
leftovers (or even made a special category for using "leftovers"
within their blog) I'd be the first subscriber! I have no imagination
when it comes to turning yesterday's meal into a brand new dish.
