The market had a big display of blueberries yesterday. Fresh, 6-ounce
packages, from Chile, 99 cents. We love blueberries. With this
morning's blueberry pancakes I briefly thought about the locavore
notion. Then I thought, wotthehell, we eat a little something from
our backyard veggie plot all year round so that should earn us a
little credit for an occasional indulgence......Besides, it's
blueberries. -aem

I buy blueberries and other fruit from Chile in the winter when it's
not available here. I do try to eat locally as much as I can but we
do live in a world economy.

I avoid products from such sources as much as possible, but
sometimes one just has to have berries or whatever it is, and
sometimes frozen ones won't suffice.
