![]() I've been on a soup kick lately. Yesterday I made a green chili pork stew. The blabbady blah, blah about that is on my blog if you are interested in it. Bowl of green. http://i50.tinypic.com/287gdn8.jpg Tonight I made Potato Cabbage soup. At first I was going to make some plain ol' potato soup, then I thought adding some fresh cabbage at the end might be good. Kind of a Colcannon soup :-) http://i48.tinypic.com/atql8k.jpg I served the soup with a piece of cheese bread. Close up of soup and bread. http://i49.tinypic.com/xmv8g1.jpg I chopped an onion and started it cooking in some grapeseed oil. As the onion was cooking I gathered the rest of the ingredients, and started chopping. http://i45.tinypic.com/24d312g.jpg Once the onion was cooked the potatoes were added. http://i47.tinypic.com/6pq5qu.jpg Then covered with chicken broth, http://i47.tinypic.com/wilzmb.jpg covered and simmered until tender. http://i45.tinypic.com/t9fc50.jpg Fresh ground black pepper and thyme is added. http://i49.tinypic.com/dz9xko.jpg I pounced the potatoes with my whisk to break them up a little bit and to thicken the broth. http://i47.tinypic.com/18myw0.jpg Thinly sliced cabbage is added. http://i49.tinypic.com/v5bg4l.jpg The crunch of the cabbage with the smooth creaminess of the potatoes is wonderful. Dive in. http://i48.tinypic.com/atql8k.jpg And that's that. koko -- There is no love more sincere than the love of food George Bernard Shaw www.kokoscorner.typepad.com updated 01/31/10 |

I donno, I'd be ascared... all the rest looks mighty disgusting, especially that pork stew slop what looks already been eaten... I swear it looks eggsactly like what I find on the floor when one of my cats eats too fast and tosses it back up. Soon as I looked at both those bowls I imagined those wretching/gacking sounds that tells me I have to grab the roll of paper towels. |

It looks delicious to me, I may make it myself tomorrow, despite
Sheldons rude comments. We are going to an oyster tasting tonight at Dover Downs seafood resturant tonight, Doc Magrogans. There will be 15 diferent oysters to sample. We have compared 3 diff ones in the past, and they all do taste slightly different. Really looking forward to it,....... and Sheldon, Shhhhhhhush. Nan In DE |
