Meat and taters and dirt. Do you see the filth on the bottom
of that roasting tray closest to the front? Enlarge the picture
a bit. God, it resembles a garbage can, a dirty one at that.

You wish you had that pan... everyone wishes they had that pan... I
wish I had bought the entire set, all three sizes. That's a 30 year
old Farberware stainless steel pan coated with Excalibur non stick (a
dark navy blue coating - no longer used by Farberware). It's
difficult to find Excalibur coated cookware, I suppose because it
lasts so long:
http://www.streetdirectory.com/food_..._cookware.html

What pervanus sees is the stainless steel where the coating wore
off... no dirt... only dirt is that crud coating your unused celery
seed sized brain. Widdle pervanus... *idiot clone of sqwartz*! <G>

Not cooked yet... I like to do all my prep early morning, I don't like
to prep food right before I eat, especially raw meat... already
seasoned - black pepper, msg, olive oil - plastic wrap is while it
sits in the fridge, a nice hunk of top round, bought two yesterday,
one is in the freezer. It'll go into the oven soon though, probably
another hour, ~4 PM so it's ready to carve at ~6 PM... devils are
already waiting. I still need to decide on a salad dressing...
probably apple cider vinegar, evoo, herbs/spices.
I'll try to remember plated pics. Food needn't be fancy schmancy to
be good, in fact a basic salad, plain meat n' taters, simple
'sparaguys is better than overly fercocktah. In fact I decided to do
this because I'm disgusted by the TIAD crap I've seen posted here of
late. So, do ya think I oughta crap up the 'sparaguys with 'shrooms?

As of the last time this came up there had been no peer-reviewed
research establishing any connection between msg and cancer. Zero.

The salad looks very appetizing.

Photo two: I see you own a knuckle grater like mine. I use it a lot
- to grate a bit of cheese, some carrot, even ginger. It graduated to
a counter caddy, it gets used so often.

That and/or a light marinade depending on what you are after.
I also like to let steaks (not roasts tho') come to room temp before
tossing them into a hot pan or grill.

I imagine they are. <g> I sometimes make Tartar out of top round with a
dip of raw egg yolk and soy sauce when I'm in the mood for raw meat. I
remove ALL fat tho' when I do that. Can't stand raw beef fat.

RANCH! <ducking and running>

;-)

Seriously, I've gotten in to Balsamic vinegar lately. LOVE the stuff and
I just stocked up on some EVOO again. I'd run out.

Top round makes an excellent oven roast, much more beefy flavor than
rib. I don't care for the texture or flavor of rare beef, it's mushy
and tastes/smells uncooked/raw, not even juicy... how many cook rare
why bother to light the oven, just season and slice. Dead rare roast
beef smells like butcher shop, not at all appetizing except to the
TIADers.

During winter I keep it right up close to my house... my barn is too
far to trudge through a heavy snow, and no electric there... and
anyway tractors are designed to get dirty. Whenever there's news of
an impending snow storm I put the tractor up on the driveway and
backed right up close to the house, at the ready for the first big
push. I've learned that the less I drive over the snow and compact it
the easier to plow. It's snowing here now but not anything like the
news forcasted. It's been snowing for three hours now and still less
than a 1/2" fell... unless this picks up soon we won't be getting much
snow in the Catskills.

Your Kubota is a nice tractor and I like the way you took a Woods front
end loader and swapped the bucket for a plow... that is a nice set-up.
Do those turf tires give you enough traction if the snow gets really
deep or do you add chains if needed?

If it's non-stick, why is all that shit stuck to it? And what good

No, that is grunge. Take a picture of just the pan (and the rack
while you're at it). You can see grunge all around the rim of the
pan and in the crevices.

I have the bucket too... can't remove the front loader without leaving
the bucket attached or it'll tip over... and that bucket sure comes in
handy for moving dirt and dumping it over a fence, a lot easier than a
shoveling by hand with a wheelbarrow.

http://i46.tinypic.com/55gjt.jpg

Yes, a very beefy plow, and it angles hydraulically, it'll slice
through 2' deep snow like it's not there"
http://www.horstwelding.com/snow_items.php?id=91

>Do those turf tires give you enough traction if the snow gets really
>deep or do you add chains if needed?

Mine are turf and field tires, they're pretty knobby:
http://www.firestoneag.com/tirelist.asp?ref=120

True turf tires (floatation tires) like are used to mow golf courses
are much wider (kinda balloon-like) and have smooth treads like
passenger car tires: http://www.firestoneag.com/tirelist.asp?ref=39

When I put that tractor into 4X4 it'll practically walk up a wall, and
the weight of that front loader + the plow places a lot of extra
weight over the front wheels, I haven't gotten stuck in snow yet.
Putting the front loader on each fall and removing it each spring are
the only two jobs I dread, the hillybillys need to modernize the
system, the hydraulic couplers alone are a real knuckle buster.

With how the plow is cantilevered it improves traction:

I'm surprised you don't at least have a tent cover over it. Must be a
bear to dig all the snow off of it before you can drive it?

Maybe you never lived in snow country. A tent would be a disaster,
snow is *heavy*... many car ports around here collapse from snow...
what do you think happens to the vehicle??? I thought about building
another utility shed but one large enough would be pricey. And those
plastic quansets are short lived and for what they are they're pricey
too, and any kind of shed right next to the house is ugly. Takes me
no more than five minutes with a soft broom to sweep the snow off the
tractor... snow is all cleaned off long before the tractor warms up...
has to idle like 15 minutes before the motor and all the hydraulics
are warmed... while I wait I go back inside for one last pee before I
plow. LOL

I have.

Yes, but with a sufficiently pointy roof, most of it slides off. Does
not build up to significant weight. But, your point is well taken none
the less. ;-)

Sounds like you keep at it. No 3 ft. of snow builds up on top of the
tractor! <g>

I don't need to brush off any more snow than so I can see, really just
the glass and the motor cowl. .. once the cab warms with the
defrosters on all the snow melts off anyway. Any snow on the tires
rolls off soon as I start to move, and I don't care about what snow is
on the roof... soon as the cab heats up all I gotta do is go in
reverse and make a hard stop, it all slides off behind me. Most of
the work is to shovel off the driveway pavement from the garage doors
to the length of the tractor... the whole idea of being parked up
close before it snows is so I don't roll over the snow and compact it,
then I can't shovel it very easily and the only place I'd be able to
plow it is into the garage. And right now I have the oil pan heater
plugged in, so like in five minutes I'll be starting up the tractor,
let it warm, and move it off the driveway back along side the house so
I can get my car out. I have this all figured out.

Looks real tasty, Sheldon...

And we see *some* pukes here are jealous and so hide their sheer envy
behind silly prevarications...these are the sorts that are "lucky" to
graze on rotted algae or Dinty Moore straight from the unheated can,
lol...

When we did live in snow country, dad had made a large, long handled
scraper out of lumber and regularly scraped the snow off of our roof
during a snow storm. ;-) Seems daddy was no dummy...
