There was a gyros place in Chicago metro south. Went there. There was a for sale sign at the front door. The quality of the food was low enough it definitely needed a new owner. On the other hand also in Chicago metro we tried Tre Kroner and Honkey Tonk BBQ. They ruled. I could write poems about the beef ribs at Honkey Tonk BBQ they were so good. A beef rib, it's prime rib, best wear a bib. Mustard sauce, smokey sauce, tooth pick and floss. Smell the smoke, let it soak, you won't go broke. As poetry goes it's not prize winning, but when have I ever written a poem about food before? ;^) > ... but it's probably best to avoid the > "Maid Rite" in Springfield, IL <----- lhe latter was not very good, > IMO. We go to Springfield, IL annually for the state Freemason convention. Thanks for the pointers, will look up Charlie Parkers. When it comes to the looks of the chefs in this thread I'm biased. Good to know about the Chicago locations you like(d). If/when you dine at Charlie Parkers, please give it a review here? Their website - http://www.charlieparkersdiner.net/ - doesn't seem to give that appearance. The menu is interesting. What I thought was a haystack is called a "breakfast shoe." Oh, Oh!! One thing I noticed from their website - the restaurant is open daily only until 2pm!! Sky -- Ultra Ultimate Kitchen Rule - Use the Timer! Ultimate Kitchen Rule -- Cook's Choice!! |

I like Anne Burell. I like the way she talks and I like the way she cooks. Not fond of all the salt, but at least she's up-front about why. It may be good for that occasional restaurant meal but not every day. I blow up like a balloon when I have that much salt at every meal. -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |

I wouldn't go so far as to say "ideal" beauty....... I find a lot of women very attractive, and they aren't usually the ones in a glossy mag. I like real, I don't like fake. I also used to go past a paddock with a large pond in it, that horse used to drink at. It isn't anything like that, I assure you. There is no hint of sex per se in her approach. Hell, she doesn't even do cleavage (at least on the cooking show), unlike Giada, not that there is anything wrong with that. No, it's more like a pleasant half-hour with someone who is sensuous about what she does in front of the camera, cooking. And she obviously does it well enough that the ratio of women to men who dislike her on this group is around 10:1 (that 1 is Lou). When I say she is the goddess, I am of course referring to her callypigian proportion or, as Precious Ramotswe said, "a woman of traditional proportion" which got her into trouble as I recall. -- I have nothing against God. Somehow, I doubt that. The very beginning of your statement implies that you are predisposed, and heavily biased, AGAINST people with a university background which of course is a contribution to society, not its entire makeup, much as the military are a contribution to society, not its entire makeup, or business is a contribution to society, not its entire makeup...see where I'm going here? -- I have nothing against God.
