I read a review of the Lodge pre-seasoned pan in which the owner cooked with
the new pan and the seasoning peeled right off as single layer of some
plastic-looking substance, which kinda put me off investigating further.

One limp-wristed clueless newbie here mewls that cast iron is too heavy.
