Default Question about matzo balls

Are they ever made or eaten with anything other than chicken soup?

I've never used them in anything other than chicken soup. Having them
any other way would be like trying to eat an olive without the Martini
around it!

But wait!! Mummy is sure to have a recipe stashed somewhere in the
trailer. Give her a few minutes to sweep the cockroaches away and
she'll post it.

What *are* you going on about?!?!? Can't someone post a recipe in here
without you making up horrible scenarios about it?

What are you going on about?? We love original recipes that someone
has actually tried, but posting blends and restaurant recipes from
another site and claiming them as "Mummy's" will get you dragged over
the coals every time.

There are the fans of floaters, and fans of sinkers. I guess you and
your family are fans of the former.

Well, they are a dumpling like a wonton or other soup inclusion.

You could fry them, or bake them, stuff them, or make them sweet or
spicy or serve them as appetizers I wonder if there's a category for
them at the state fair.... <g>

Oh yeah... <g> Just like deep fried butter on a stick:

Or:

I found it amusing that when I checked the tinyurl link, there was an ad
for "Lipitor" at the top of the screen. <giggles>

Not in my house, but yes.

According to http://www.jewishfederations.org/page.aspx?id=125773 , "In
New Orleans, matzah balls are either served in an Alsatian-style
beef-vegetable broth, called red soup, or in chicken and sausage gumbo.
Surprisingly, they are also sauteed in copious amounts of butter and
presented as a side dish."

Please forgive the Cajuns in New Orleans. They drink a few hurricanes
and you never know what they'll come up with. They cook crawfish,
possums, turducken, alligator, etc.
