Default Tomato paste concentrate

Thought this tomato paste packaging was pretty cool. I've never seen
it packaged this way before. Cool and new, or am I waaaaaayyyyy behind
the times. ;-) methinks the latter.

Ingredients: tomatoes
Idividual packages, 3.5 ozs

What's wrong with tomato paste packaged in a tube (like tooth paste)? I
find those tubes very useful for wasabi and basil.

Tomato paste in a tube is fantastic stuff - so's garlic paste, too!!!
It's so convenient to use the little that's occassionally needed.
However, I think there's a rather a bit of difference between tomato
'sauce' and tomato 'paste,' eh? ;D Can't say as I've ever seen tomato
'sauce' packaged the way Koko referenced; I've always seen the stuff in
cans or jars.

We have tomato paste in tubes over here..... very useful they are too.

By the wasabi and basil, I take it you're talking about buying them in
tubes too?? Or do you pack your own empty tomato paste tubes?

We have the wasabi and basil in tubes over here..... as well as a lot of
other herbs.

I always forget to look for tomato paste in a tube, but I have anchovy
paste in a tube. It works for Caesar dressing.

Have you ever tried sun dried tomato pesto in a jar? It makes a great
substitute for tomato sauce on pizza.

The tiny cans of Hunts are only 4 ounces, aren't they?
I freeze any leftover in dollops on a pan then toss the frozen blobs
into a ziplock bag. I can then use them ad lib in small amounts.

We can now get various herbs in tubes. I thought that might be a viable
alternative for cilantro when I only need a small amount and don't want
to pay for a bunch and then have 1/4 got to waste. Last week I went to
pick some up, thinking it was about $2 per tube, but I got to the
checkout and was stunned to discover it was $5.89. I took it back and
got a bunch of fresh. I wish that they still carried the frozen cubes.
They were pretty good. Not as good as fresh, but much cheaper than the
tubes.

lover!!), and it's still in the fridge, unopened.

I told him I love fresh grilled sardines...... he gives me anchovy paste!!

Yeah, I freeze the leftovers too... they are one of the small items I
told squeaks I tend to lose in the freezer.

Absolutely nothing, never said there was. I use the tubes all the
time.
I only posted about the little tubs because I've never seen them
before and thought they were unusual.

Hey!! I noticed that the tubs you have are Kosher. Does that mean the

It's a bit like "Kosher Salt". You can get a probably self-appointed
rabbinical board to certify that a brand of *kosherizing* salt is kosher
and allow you to put an impressive seal on the package but it was kosher
even before the board certified it.

I have found some fascinating stuff in the mideastern section at Fiesta
Mexican Market. :-) Including canned Dolmas and canned grape leaves so
I can make my own. A nice variety of Olives too, and the large capers.

I was being neutral. I haven't seen a Mexican grocery with a Middle
East section here. Maybe I traveled outside the City I could find
one, but there are no Middle Eastern sections in the Mexican groceries
where *I* shop. They have Asian/Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai, not Middle
Eastern or Indian.

Fiesta has rows labeled for specific geographical areas. It's very
organized.

If you ever visit this part of Texas, I'll be happy to take you there.
