Default Weekend Eats: Lamb and Pasta Aglio Olio (pics)

Besides making 4 hamburgers of varying condiments and adornments,
these were the other 2 meals on this rare weekend at home (2 weeks
in a row I've been home - the only two weekends since Christmas).

Day 1 Dinner:

Leg of lamb, accidentally fell asleep at woke up when it was 142F
inside, but still quite juicy as evidenced by the wet cutting board.
It was rubbed generously with EVOO, fresh thyme, fresh rosemary,
sage, and fresh garlic.

Israeli Couscous cooked in chicken stock with finely chopped veggies
and some masala chat.

Olives, peppers, and peperoncinis marinated in chardonay wine.

Day 2
Thin spaghetti, fruits de mer (mussels, clams, shrimp, octopus),
garlic, butter, olive oil, heavy cream, chardonnay, parsley, chives
with grated manchego cheese and more Napa Valley chardonnay-soaked
antipasto from last night's lamb.

Yes, that's a garlic butter hamburger bun. I cooked a lot of
hamburgers this weekend and had two buns left over. Don't like it?
Request a refund.

In other Andy-like news, I even went to CostCo and managed to get
out of there for only $187 after not having been there for 3 months.
Hardly any foodstuffs, mostly boring household stuff.

Oh, I dream of having roast lamb often, but living now alone without
anyone near by to share it with precludes my used to be often
roasting. I came to know and love lamb in 1960, and discovered by a
what-to-do-with-leftovers that roasted lamb makes the best tacos
ever. I roast a leg-of as taught by second dad's mom, merely with
salt & pepper and poked in garlic slivers all about. Thank you so for
sharing the lucious photo!
