Default Is Cathy's RFC site down...

....or is it my computer? Tried getting on the site and it keeps
timing out. It's done so all day.

<tap, tap> You ok Cathy? :-)

Maybe they lost power/electricity.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

We're OK, but the facility where the RFC server is hosted had a 'major
power surge' (and something obviously went 'boom'). 'The technicians
are still working on it', or so we've been told...

It would seem that "normal transmission has (finally) been resumed" ;-)

It does indeed. I just tried it and there it was.

Could have been worse, I suppose. After nearly 24 hours of down time,
(and several calls to the ISP hosting zone to find out WTF was going
on) we had visions of the power supply (or worse) being blown on the
server itself - and having to replace the server or parts thereof.

Still dunno what caused the 'power surge' they blamed it on exactly, and
of course the Hell Desk in question has not been forthcoming with any
further details. But I must admit that this is the first time in years
that it's been down for more than an hour or two, and that was usually
for 'planned maintenance'.

<Cathy grins at blake>

Strangely enough, one of the technical staff eventually replied to
our 'WTF happened?' email(s)/calls this morning (our time) and informed
us that, as far as he was aware, it was a very quick 'brown out' -
which fooled the backup generators into thinking that they didn't need
to kick in like they usually do at the strategic moment; obviously some
of the other hardware they have there disagreed...
