As it so happens, I ordered MTAOFC a few weeks ago and I too recoiled with disgust at the editions with the Julie and Julia crap on the cover. I kept looking around until I found a hardback edition with the original cover. Actually, I got the two book set, volumes one and two. I imagine they will keep me busy in the kitchen for quite some time ![]() > I also ordered Rustic Fruit Desserts, Artisan > Bread in Five Minutes a Day, Forgotten Skills of Cooking and The > Backyard Homestead, for half off Nice choices there. Not that I am familiar with those books, but they sound like something that would interest me. -- The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it - George Bernard Shaw |

They belong side by side. The index for volume 2, includes everything that is in volume 1[boldface for vol. 1 and normal print for vol. 2]. You basically have a larger cookbook in two volumes. |

Agreed, well worth getting the 2nd volume... also might as well have it as it doesn't add much to the overall cost - at least here in Oz anyway. -- The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it - George Bernard Shaw |
