Valuesoft is releasing a brand new version of Mastercook.

I'm really excited. I'm on version 7 as Version 8 was a disaster and 9
was mostly for IE users.

v.7 is the only one I've ever used. Paid $7 for it on eBay in, I think,
2007. v.11 is going to have to be really good before I pop $19.99 for
it. Maybe I'll just wait a couple of years and find it cheap if it
doesn't work out real well. <G>

I do like v.7 though.

Thank you for the information. I just placed a pre-order at Amazon.
Add another item ($5.01 or more) and get free shipping.

I have version 6, when it was owned by Sierra. I've been scared to
upgrade in case the ValuSoft version wasn't compatible and I'd goof up
all I have stored. If I'm wrong, can someone tell me?

You are wrong. I went from version 1 to version 4 to version 7 without
any problems. You need to back up things, though.

To be safe, join the mastercook discussion group on Yahoo Groups. There
is a huge amount if technical information in the files. The group does
not trade recipes or anything like that. It's just for technical issues
dealing with the program.

I think I started with version 3 and upgraded to each version all the
way to version 9. I have had no trouble importing my recipes to any
version and I have had no problem using any of the versions. I do not
have thousands of recipes, more like a few hundred. I only put the
ones I use in there. I do have another "book" with untried recipes. I
really need to go through all of the recipes I have saved from here
and get them in that book.

Now if they would let me start with a blank page and do my own page
design I would be a very happy camper. Trying to modify an existing
one is a major pain.

I use Version 6 with no problems.

It's supposed to work with Windows Vista and Windows 7. The Yahoo group
does have fixes for the Import bar in IE.
