OMG...that's funny.

I bought some yellow little bunny peeps. Two of the people I'm having
over for Easter are little children.
So I got an Easter basket, some 'grass', chocolate eggs and plastic
eggs (which I'm hiding around the house)
a chocolate bunny and some yellow bunny peeps. I'm hoping the kids
have a good time finding the
eggs and the bunny I'm hiding.

I'm thinking about stuffing the plastic eggs with some of the little
chocolate eggs and some of the yellow peeps.

whadaya think?

I didn't want to get too much sugar stuff. I know their mom will
appreciate my not loading them up with
a lot of sweet stuff. They are bringing the dessert so the Easter
Basket is more to entertain. It's supposed
to be rainy and windy tomorrow and they won't be able to hide eggs
outside.

They can do a wiffle ball paint-a-thon indoors, just need some cheapo
watercolor paints sets

jelly beans have never been a favorite of mine until this year when we
found the starburst jelly beans. they are addicting.

I indulge.

I love the idea of chocolate coating them! That might actually make them
edible. <g>

The best use for peeps is to let them get a bit stale (hard) then float
them in the top of a cup of hot cocoa. They melt slowly and just the
eyes are left, staring at you out of your cup. <eg>

The Peeps Diaramas (different subject from the cooking with peeps) weren't
nearly as creative this year as last year. In fact they mostly looked like
they were done by pre-teens. Last years were really creative. I should
have bought some peeps last year when they were on sale and done 'Peeps
Playing Poker'' (tm) for this year's competition.

Were you looking at the Washington Post contest??? The take-off on "Up"
was spectacular. The Seattle Times also had a Peeps diorama contest.
The winner was a take off on the Salvador Dali painting where clocks
droop over tree branches. The Peeps were flattened with a rolling pin
for the effect.

if you're talking about the washington *post* contest, i agree that this
year's were lackluster. the previous two years were truly astounding.
