Default I pulled a Jolicoeur at Whole Foods!

I hardly ever get anything from the overpriced salad bars at Whole
Foods. And I probably only returned or sent back maybe 5 partially
eaten meals/items in my lifetime (the last time was pre-cooked
shrimp from the Whole Foods two years prior - they had been boiled
to death to make shrimp stoc).

A few nights ago I got some Cesar salad, some fried tofu with ginger
soy dressing, and some beef bourguignon. They were pretty small
portions and it should not have cost almost $11. i can't believe it
weighed overt a pound.

I took one bite of the beef and it just sucked all the taste out of
my taste buds and was so dry that I actually choked on it trying to
swallow it. It shouldn't have been called "beef bourguignon" even
on a good day. I left the rest of it alone while eating the other
two items.

I took the container back with just the beef in it and asked for a
refund of the weight that was left in the container. The customer
service desk insisted on giving me a full refund on the original
price of the container. After explaining that I didn't want a full
refund, they won.

So I took the money ($10.50 or so) and when I got home I wrote them
a complaint letter for making me feel like a fraudulent huckster,
and cited the Florida Joliceur case. They didn't respond; I
suspect they were speechless - somebody actually complaining about
getting too much money back. Heh.

I realize now how easy it could be to live off of free food. But
not 600 pounds worth. And not beef jerky and milkshakes. If I
wasn't so moral I'd set the bar a little higher with steaks and
lobsters. With truffle sauces and whatnot.

<chuckles>

The only thing there I've ever found worth eating at the cafe are their
roast beef with brie sandwiches. The meat is actually juicy rare, or at
least it was that day.

Oh well! :-)

Sorry food and service is becoming the norm. With so many people eating
out, they don't care about either. Someone else will be along directly
to fill your seat and take what is dished out. Be glad that they had the
common decency to make right on bad food.
We ate at one of the few chains that provide traditional "hot" meals.
It was not hot, it was not best quality or grade a fancy, lie it use to
be when it was founded in 1969, I believe. When we protested what we got
was the cooks have gone home and I'll get the Manger. The Manager never
showed up. The embarrassed Waitress did bring us fresh plates of food
that were semi warm. The mashed potatoes, we initially were served, was
like a brick and stone cold. Most all folks accept it and go on. It is
all that is available.
There is no quality or pride in Resturantering any more. The Owners are
not about running Restaurants. They are about making money. There is a
difference. Unfortunately competition by serving quality is non existent.

I often wonder how much we pay for the free food the con artists get by
working stores. Buddies wife lost her real job when a local
manufacturing company closed so she got a job at sams as a "mamager".
She said there was a constant stream of folks bringing in empty
containers, grape stems and whatever complaining that they "couldn't eat
it" demanding (and getting) a refund.

In the case of whole foods, thweir prices are high enough that the
cost of that, and all those BMW's and Ferrari's in the employee
parking garage are already paid for. Not to mention the 20, 30, 50
and 100% discounts the employees get on food.

[I shop at the Whole Foods that is also the Whole Foods
Headquarters]

Nodding. I try not to take advantage of their return policies.
Only do so when the item REALLY sucks, or when I didn't notice a
bottle or jar was open until I got home.

i posted this to r.f.c. a few years ago, but what the hell:

Now in a hotel there's always at least one restuarant. So they have this
man who comes in regularly. And the staff notice everytime he's in there,
something will go wrong with the food. Inevitably. He'll eat 3/4 of the
dish before complaining there's some insect or similar in the dish. Every.
Darn. Time.

It is my mom's and the kitchen staff's hypothesis that this douche brings
in dead bugs himself and plants it in the food.

So, one day, the manager comes to this difficult man, and finds that the
sucky costumer has complained of a tiny dead roach in his food.

M = Manager
DM = Douchebag Man

M: What seems to be the problem sir?
DM: Your kitchen is horrendously unsanitary! Look, there's a DEAD COCKROACH
in my food.
M: -picks up the roach without batting an eyelid and eats it- Why, it's
delicious sir! I think you mistook a shallot for an insect.
DM: -splutters, speechless-

(from the *customers suck!* livejournal site

<http://community.livejournal.com/customerssuck/>

....which seems to have been revamped since the last time i was there.)

If you choose a life of crime, be sure to take
pictures and send them to the Daily Mail.

It is interesting to note how all the foreign rags ran with that

I know. You expect better of me. In trying times like this, with
all this mindless, 2nd grade BS littering the group, you *should*
single out my post for it's lack of characteristic quality you have
come to expect from me in the past. You have a good point that I
should be setting a better example.

Thank you for brining that to my attention. In return for that I'd
like to offer you a suggestio: Pull that 9-foot pole out of your
ass and change out that bloody rag on he end of it. Your mom may
not have filet the need to explain it you, but you do need to charge
it at least daily .

I don't use a spell checker. And I've lost all feeling in 7 of my
fingers (now spreading to my lower arms) so that makes it very hard
